Candle Care
Proper candle care is important for a clean burning candle and it allows you to get the most out of each of your candles. When properly cared for, natural soy candles should last a while for you to enjoy.
• It's very important to trim your wick before each burn to minimize carbon buildup. If you don't have a pair of wick trimmers, nail clippers work just fine. I trimmed the wick for your first burn though!
• During your first burn, allow enough time for the wax to melt completely to the edges of the jar. Generally, this takes about 3-4 hours. Candles have burn memory so if your candle doesn't have enough time to melt completely edge to edge on the first burn, tunneling can occur. Tunneling is when the candle starts to burn down the center resulting in a "tunnel". Unfortunately, when a candle tunnels, a lot of the wax becomes wasted and in turn, the life of your candle will be cut short.
• Never leave a candle burning unattended.
• To minimize soot, do not burn for longer than four hours at a time.
• Place your candle on a stable surface, away from flammable items such as window curtains, paper, furniture, etc.
• Stop use when less than 1/2" of wax remains at the bottom of the candle jar.
